Project Stage In progress
Date of completion May 2025
The Selwyn District Council is carrying out upgrades to install traffic lights at the Levi Road/Lowes Road/Masefield Drive/Lincoln Rolleston Road intersection and upgrade the approaches to the intersection.
This work is a long-term project for the Council to upgrade this arterial road for Rolleston, to improve safety and prepare the intersection for future traffic. It will involve new lane layouts on the approaches to the intersection, traffic lights, cycle lanes and signalised pedestrian crossings.
Our team began stage 1 of the investigation and enabling works on Monday 2 December. This was to prepare the area for the main construction period from January until the end of April 2025.
On Monday 6 January 2025, our team entered stage 2 of the works. This work was mainly focussed on Lincoln Rolleston Road and saw it close from the intersection to around 341 Lincoln Rolleston Road.
On Monday 24 March, our team began stage 3 of the works. This saw the worksite flip, with Lincoln Rolleston Road reopening and Masefield Drive closing from the intersection to property number 51 Masefield Drive.
On Friday 4 April, we will beginning our super weekend at the intersection. This will see the intersection close from 6pm Friday 4 April to 5am Monday 7 April. Masefield Drive and Lincoln Rolleston Road will close slightly early from 6pm Thursday 3 April.
