We are working towards constructing the most northern section of the Nor’West Arc Te Ara O-Rakipaoa cycleway. We are also completing the wastewater pipe renewals in the area and upgrading the stormwater and water supply networks.

These projects have been programmed together to ensure a coordinated approach to work in the area.

On 13 January 2025, we began stage 1 of our work on the Nor’West Arc cycleway and wastewater upgrades.

• Stage 1, phase 1 of the works involves a full intersection closure of the Aroangi Road and Wairakei Road intersection. The closure extends northeast along Aorangi Road up to Condell Ave, and on Wairakei Road either side of the intersection, approximately between Jennifer Street and Pitcairn Crescent. The closure is in place from 13 January (7am) to 3 February (6pm).

Stage 1, phase 2 is expected to begin on 3 February 2025.

• Stage 1, phase 2 will see Wairakei Road open up one way for eastbound traffic.

Aorangi Road and Wairakei Road businesses are open as usual throughout the works.
