The scope of this contract was for the construction and upgrade of the intersection at Jones Road and Hoskyns Road, in the rapidly growing township of Rolleston. The intersection was subjected to a large number of both commercial and private vehicles as it connects State Highway 1 with the continually expanding I Zone business park, the inland port and is also a popular route for commuters heading into the city from the South.
The construction of this project at Jones and Hoskyns Roads was one of the first two major intersection upgrades undertaken by the Selwyn District Council, including the installation of traffic lights. This upgrade allowed the intersection to operate safely and efficiently, dealing with the long-term growth in traffic volumes associated with the expected expansion of the Rolleston Township.
This project was delivered successfully by Isaac Construction as the head contractor working with the Selwyn District Council’s selected design and construction consultants, Beca.
