Isaac Construction have been supplying material to Orana Park to house a very rare Boulder Copper Butterfly. Entomologist Rudd Kleinplaster has confirmed that there are now only a few pockets of these butterfly living within the McLeans Island Grasslands.
Rudd subsequently got Burnside Primary on board to create a habitat at Orana Park for this critically endangered species. Human settlement has forced the species out of the city and into the Canterbury plains, but we are helping bring this beautiful creature back home where it can hopefully thrive.
