The scope of works for this commercial land development was the construction of a new car park and new roads. The contract works included bulk earthworks, stormwater drainage, service trenching for power, water, telecommunications and pumped sewer, kerb and channel, street light installation, footpath and berm construction, road construction and surfacing.
As some of the land was subject to contamination from a historic landfill in the area, the project also required stringent monitoring due to the possibility of encountering asbestos.
Accurate survey and set out undertaken by the Isaac Construction Project Engineer was key to the achievement of contractual specifications for quality. Given construction was conducted on the site of a former rubbish dump, this attention to detail and accuracy to achieve correct levels was of even greater importance.
